Instructor of Chemistry
(Raleigh County Campus)
Summary of Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a full range of courses in chemistry or related fields on the Raleigh County Campus of New River Community and Technical College. This position is for the Raleigh County Campus but may involve travel to other campuses for day, evening and/or weekend classes. Duties include curriculum and program review, develop and conduct instructional laboratories, advise students, assess and evaluate student achievement, and participate in college committee assignments.
Position may require travel between campuses.
Education:
A Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required (doctorate preferred).
Experience:
Two or more years of demonstrated experience teaching chemistry labs and lectures are preferred. Evidence of knowledge in the chemical sciences is required; in addition to, demonstrated laboratory safety training. The successful candidate should demonstrate ability to apply chemistry materials and equipment to help students demonstrate mastery of standards in lab-based instruction.
Reports to: Campus Dean
Classification/Compensation: $35,000 annually
