(Beckley Campus)
Summary of Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a full range of courses in the Early Childhood program. This position is for the Beckley Campus, but may involve travel to other campuses or training sites for day, evening and/or weekend classes. Duties include coordination of curriculum development and revision for paraprofessional programs in Early Childhood Education; maintaining knowledge of current related state and federal requirements; supervision of trainees through clinical field experiences; remaining current with subject matter, accreditation procedures and instructional methodology; assisting with student advising; conducting course-level and program-level academic assessment; and maintaining professional growth and instructional skills. This is a contracted, 9-month Term Faculty position.
Education:
• Master’s degree in either Early Childhood Education or related Education field is required.
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years teaching required at the college level or teaching children.
• A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in the field of Early Childhood and licensed to teach Early Childhood is preferred.
• The successful candidate must be capable of assessing, planning, implementing, instructing and evaluating the paraprofessional programs.
A combination of education and experience (for example: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and 5 years experience in Early Childhood Education) may be acceptable.
